I couldn't get a very good photo...

They have black ferrules and varnished wooden handles.  Visit Cabin Crafters for a better look.

While at the 2002 Las Vegas Creative Painting Convention, I was introduced to Dynasty Brushes new brush the Wave.  This is a fun set of brushes.  It gives you a new twist on your basic brushes.  They have a flat brush, filbert brush and angle brush, all with the chisels cut into a wave shape.

They come in a variety of sizes and they are good prices.

Cabin Crafters is selling these brushes for 50% off, so you can get some of these and play around with them.  They really are a lot of fun.  Below are some things I did with my brushes.

Please note that the scanned images are larger than what I actually painted.

"One" stroke and comma stroke done with #12 Flat

"One" stroke and comma stroke done with #8 Filbert

Stippling done with the #12 Flat

"S" strokes done on the chisel end
of #12 Flat

Crescent stroke done on the chisel end
of #12 Flat

Comma stroke done on the chisel end
of #12 Flat

A series of "one" strokes, done on the chisel end of #12, pulled up to make grass.

Here I tried a double-loaded comma stroke

"One" stroke loaded with paint, tipped in white, and pulled down

Sideways "one" stroke loaded with paint, tipped in white, and pulled just on the tips of the waves.

This is quick carnation bud.  I loaded the #12 Flat with mauve, tipped the brush in white.  I pressed the bristles down to make a fan shape, and pulled and twisted the brush to make a "one" stroke with a point.  I repeated 2 more times for the petals.  Next I added a green calyx with the same brush and a comma stroke.

The angle brush I have is so tiny (only 1/8") that I didn't get a chance to use it yet.  I really had fun trying these brushes and seeing what they could do.  They felt good in my hand and the bristles had good spring back - great for painting strokework.  I think they would be great to add a little pizzaz to your painting.

If you love collecting all the new painting items you can, then you will want to have these brushes.  They are affordable over at Cabin Crafters - jump on over and take a look!  http://www.cabincrafters.com/Products/BlackGold/
