| I just loved, loved, loved this book so
much, that I wanted to offer it for purchase here at Decor Delights!
Simply Soldered is a fun book for altered artists, mixed-media
artists, paper artists, and for all your crafters out there who would like
to add another dimension to your work. This is a 35 page book full
of soldering ideas. You get to make jewelry, frames, boxes, altered art,
decor - such as soldering on gourds and stained glass! Great for beginners
and all crafters' skill levels. The most ideas in the book are for soldering jewelry pieces. The picture on the book's front cover are of a Cowgirl bracelet and the Angel Winged Pendant. Also in the book are instructions for pins. You can use your own photos or mini collages. Why not make some charm bracelets, or linked bracelets? Use glass that has been stamped, or image transfers using Houston Art's Omni Gel, and gold leafing. Make art doll or wire wrapped pendants! How about trying soldering jewelry with gourd pieces or bottle caps? There is a great lesson on making faux Scrimshaw jewelry with polymer clay and rubber stamps. I love the pressed flower pendants! For the home decor items, why not make Cositas (pretty little things) from clear glass, stained glass, and your artwork soldered into a fun decorative piece. What great gifts these would make! Hang them on the wall or display them on a small picture easel. Solder some untraditional frames, art frames, copper and wood frames! If you are more off-the-wall and love to have fun with your art - make a diva doll, solder on canvas, solder on boxes and books, and add some soldered accents to gourd art! Now, I know your next question... Will this book show me how to make all this stuff? Yes! Inside are excellent instructions from the very beginning. Learn what tools and supplies you will need to get started. There are wonderful step-by-step photos on glass cleaning, applying the copper foil, mitering corners, burnishing, using flux and soldering. There is a great page on explaining what the tools and equipment are and how/why they are used. It is limited on how use a soldering iron. There are also photos for the process of making several of these pieces, and I found them very helpful. As the book states - you can solder anything! $12.99 plus shipping
