Supplies Needed
Clay Flower Pot (any size)
Delta Paints:
Woodland Night
Alpine
Green Sea
White
Empire Gold
Napthol Red Lt
Brown Iron Oxide
Brushes (American Painter Brushes by Loew Cornell):
#5 Round
#0 Liner 4350
#3 Round 4000
Instructions
Prep
Make sure clay pot is clean and dry.
Woodland Night - Base entire pot. Let dry
Transfer pattern on to pot - or freehand!
Please refer to round brush lesson for help with the
One and Comma Strokes.
Painting
Alpine
On the top rim of clay pot, stroke in the comma strokes, (#5
round brush).
Line in all the flower stems and stroke in the flower leaves, (#0
liner brush).
Green Sea
On the top rim of clay pot, (#3 round brush) stroke in a comma
stroke on every other Alpine comma stroke.
On the bottom of the pot, (#0 liner), line in the grass.
Empire Gold
Stroke in sunflower petals (#0 liner).
Dot centers of red flowers.
Place a small dot, on the rim of pot, where each comma stroke
curves inward.
Napthol Red Light
Place dot petals around the empire gold flower centers.
White
With the tip of the #0 liner brush, dab in the white flowers.
Make sure to let some background show through.
Place a small dot on either side of empire gold dot, on the rim
of the pot.
Brown Iron Oxide
Dot the centers of the sunflowers.
Empire Gold
Highlight the sunflower centers, on the top, with a sideload
float.
Finish
Let dry and varnish!
