What a fun pen to write your holiday greetings.  This wonderful pen was hand carved in the USA by a very talented gentleman in Northwestern Pennsylvania.  This charming pen would also make great gifts.  Also, the pen's ink can be replaced when the ink runs out.

Supplies Needed

DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint:  Titanium White, Honey Brown, Burgundy Wine, Dark Chocolate, Medium Flesh, Tangelo, Santa Red, Plantation Pine, Black Plum, Black, Taupe, Taffy Cream, Hauser Medium Green.

Small/Tiny Brushes - #4, #2 flat brush,   #10/0 short liner, #10/0 liner, tiny scruffy for stippling.

Satin Varnish, Wood Sealer

Instructions

Prep for Wood:  Sand wood (if needed), seal with wood sealer, let dry, lightly sand again (if needed).

Please Note: Line drawing may need to be enlarged or reduced according to your pen.  Also, every printer prints out differently and different sizes.

BASECOATS:
Burgundy Wine - base in coat and mittens.
Plantation Pine - base toy bag..
Medium Flesh - base face, mouth.
Taupe - base eyebrows, mustache, beard.

DETAILS:
Coat and mittens
Tangelo - drybrush highlights on arms, front and back of coat, top of hood.  Sideload/float fingertips of mittens and mitten thumbs.
Black Plum - sideload/float shade around on the hood (next to the face), under beard, around arms and mittens.
Taupe - stipple fur around face, down the front of the coat and on the mittens.
White - stipple highlights on all the taupe fur.

Face
Santa Red - LIGHTLY stipple or LIGHTLY wash in the cheeks, on the tip of the nose and lip on mouth.
White - drybrush highlights on eyebrows, mustache and beard.  Base in eyes.
Dark Chocolate + Honey Brown, Mix 1:2 - dot the irises in the each eye.
Black - dot a tiny pupil in each eye.
White - add a reflective light dot in the upper left of each eye.

Toy Bag and Toys
Bag:
Hauser Medium Green - paint a line around the top of the bag.  Drybrush highlights in the center of the bag.
Black Plum - sideload/float shade under the Hauser medium green line, around mittens (if you haven't done that already) and around the bottom of the pen.
Honey Brown - line in the stitches on the bag and the bow.
Taffy Cream - line in highlights on the bow.

Toys and Candy Canes
Teddy Bear:
Dark Chocolate - base in teddy bear.
Honey Brown - stipple highlights on bear.
Dark Chocolate - line in mouth
Santa Red - dot the nose
Black - dot the eyes
White - add a tiny dot in the upper left of each eye.

Green Gift (next to bear):
Hauser Medium Green - base gift.
Tangelo - line in bow.
Plantation Pine - add the dots.

Candy Canes:
White - base in candy canes
Santa Red - line in stripes
White - line in highlight.

Red Gift (on the back):
Santa Red - base in gift.
Hauser Medium Green - base in ribbon and bow.
