PAINTING:
Palette Background
Titanium White - base in palette and the sides.
Hauser Light Green - add water to a puddle of paint to make a wash of
color. With a #10 flat brush, slip-slap the wash of green near the edges of the
palette (where the vines and flowers will be painted). Make sure to leave some white
showing in the center of the palette.
Hauser Light Green - This time do the same slip-slap but with straight
paint (do not thin with water). Try to keep this light and sparse.
Hauser Dark Green - with the 10/0 liner, line in the vines. These
are squiggly, wiggly vines.
Hauser Medium Green - with the 10/0 liner, line in more vines.
Honey Brown - line in a few vines with Honey Brown.
Flowers
Stroke in each individual flower and it's petals with #2 filbert brush.
Please use the following colors - Burgundy Wine, Pansy Lavender, Deep
Periwinkle, Cadmium Yellow and Burnt Orange.
Now, for the top three or four petals of each flower, restroke
the petals with the same color, but tip the brush in white first. This will give the
flower a bit of a highlight on the top three or four petals.
Honey Brown - base in flower centers.
Dark Chocolate - sideload/float shade the bottoms of the flower centers.
Cadmium Yellow - sideload/float highlight the tops of the flower centers.
Leaves
Hauser Dark Green - Stroke in the dark leaves with the #2 filbert brush.
Hauser Medium Green - Stroke in the light leaves with the #2 filbert brush. Line in
the veins on the dark green leaves.
Hauser Dark Green - line in the vein on the light green leaves.
Tiny Dot Filler Flowers and Tinting
Deep Periwinkle - dot in tiny filler flowers where needed.
Burgundy Wine - add water and make a wash of color. Tint here and
there to add depth.
Brush
Cadmium Yellow - base in bristles
Shimmering Silver - base in ferrule
Burgundy Wine - base in handle
Honey Brown - sideload/float shade the bristles. Line in some bristles.
Dark Chocolate - deepen the shading on the bristles. Line two lines on the ferrule.
Cadmium Yellow + White mix 1:1 - sideload/float highlight the bristles
White - Line a highlight line on one side of the brush.
FINISHING
Varnish with your favorite varnish. I used a satin varnish for a nice sheen.
Add the sawtooth hanger to the back, screw the cup hook on the bottom of the palette.
Screw the eyehook in the handle of the brush and attach the key ring.
Enjoy!!!
