I have had a piece of Kunin
Felt's - Kreative Kanvas - in my stash for quite awhile
and hadn't had the opportunity to play around with it. It looks like white felt,
but
with a great surface for painting. It's also really nice to machine sew! It
almost feels like heavy
stabilizer used in machine embroidery. If you can't find the felt at your local
craft store,
I suggest a primed canvas (gessoed on both sides) as a good alternative
This is a fun, quick little
project to make for family and friends this Valentine's Day. The crayon makes
the
lettering and hearts look like chalk on a pink chalkboard!
| SUPPLIES Paint: Moroccan Red, Mendocino (Delta Ceramcoat) Brushes: #12 flat, #5 round (Black Gold by Dynasty) Crayons: orange, pink, white (Crayola) Surface: Kreative Kanvas (Kunin Felt) or gessoed heavy canvas - both sides Other: sewing machine, white thread, sharp scissors, 12" white lace or trim Finished size: 4" x 6 1/4" heart SEWING DECORATING white crayon - Love, XO,
tiny heart - also draw the white along your stitches and around the top of
the heart. 2 Make a wash with the paint and paint over entire heart - if you have drawn the crayon on heavily enough, it should repel the paint and show through. Add dabs of this wash to the handle. 3 Make a wash with Mendocino paint and paint the heart edges. 4 Let dry and fill with candy for your special Valentine. PATTERN - Enlarge to 4" x 6 1/4" or to desired size.
