Lighthouse Basket Surface:
6" Round Basket- 4" high
Palette: AC Flesh, Avalon, Black, Black Cherry, Cadet Gray, Dark Forest Green,
Leaf Green, Opaque Red, Salem Blue, Spice Brown and White.
Brushes: Loew-Cornell American Painter. Series 4000 Round #3, Series 4350 Liner
#6/0 and Series 4300 Shader Sizes 8 and 12, 1" Foam Brush.
Instructions:

Basecoat the whole lid with Salem Blue. The rim is painted
Avalon.

Transfer the horizon line and the ground areas with white
transfer paper. Float Avalon along the top of the water line, fading it lightly towards
the bottom. Shade across the bottom, next to the ground with Avalon. Clouds. Float
"C" strokes of White. Start at the top of a cloud and think of a pyramid. Repeat
rows downward, picking up the bottom of the "C" strokes as you go. Finish off
the bottom by side loading your brush and pull it horizontally across the bottom of the
clouds. Keep the line straight or it will look like your clouds are going uphill.

Transfer the buildings and sailboat.

The Lighthouse is White on the bottom and Opaque Red on the top.
Shade the edges of the bottom area of the lighthouse with Cadet Gray. Shade the edges of
the top and under the railing with Black Cherry. Repeat this shading lightly with Black.
The window, railings and roof are Black. Highlight the edges of the railing and the top of
the roof with Gray. The house is based White. Windows are based Cadet Gray shaded across
the tops with Black. Place the dividing lines with White. The roofs and shutters are
Opaque Red. Shade under the rooflines with Cadet Gray.

The sailboat has White sails shaded with Cadet Gray. The mast
and hull are Spice Brown. The pennant is Opaque Red. Side load your brush with White and
ruffle some waves along the hull and various places in the water
The Ground is based Leaf Green. Use your stipple brush and
highlight the top with Leaf Green plus a little Light Ivory. Use your stipple brush and
highlight the top with Leaf Green plus a little White. Stipple this down a bit, add Dark
Forest Green and stipple lightly to bottom. Shade across the bottom with more Dark Forest
Green
